Go BackHoloView is a three dimensional virtual world browser, based on the current works of the HoloWeb research team, led by Michael Deering. This UltraPack version includes the "Virtual Market Segment Sampler", a cyberspace specially developed by cyber artist Hallie McConlogue as an interpretation of what a 3d web browser of the future might encounter at http://www.sun.comHoloView demonstrates the power of Creator 3D Graphics -- fast, smooth, intuitive, interactive frame rates capable of being run in full 24 bit depth at 1280x1024 screen resolution.
All the objects you see are being rendered in real time, using multiple light sources, transparency and multi-behavioral animation primitives.
The current direction of the work is focused on developing the syntax and semantics of multi-user, connected, immersive virtual worlds. To learn more, read the HoloWeb proposal, submitted in February of 1996 as a solution for enabling many of the features required to adequately specify VRML2.0.
